Bohm Commercial Real Estate is an entrepreneurial real estate development and ownership company focused on adaptive reuse and creative mixed-use properties. Our portfolio includes commercial real estate ownership entities and related investment interests, anchored by the redevelopment and operation of the historic Thorp Building — a 250,000 SF industrial property with more than 90 tenants in Minneapolis’ Northeast Arts District.
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee day-to-day accounting operations across a multi-entity real estate portfolio. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership, autonomy, and visibility into operations and decision-making.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing accounting processes independently within a collaborative entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
Financial & Portfolio Accounting
Maintain general ledger and record journal entries across multiple entities
Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
Manage cash tracking and assist with cash flow reporting
Support annual tax preparation and outside CPA coordination
Maintain accurate accounting records and entity-level reporting
Property & Tenant Accounting
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Process tenant billings and assist with CAM reconciliations
Review and maintain lease abstracts and tenant setup information
Support property-level reporting and operational accounting activities
Payroll & Reporting
Process payroll and related filings
Prepare 1099s and assist with year-end reporting requirements
Maintain organized accounting and financial records
Process Improvement & Coordination
Help improve accounting systems, workflows, and internal processes over time
Coordinate with vendors, tenants, ownership, and outside professionals as needed
Support financial and operational coordination across the portfolio

Compensation & Benefits
$85,000 – $105,000 salary plus bonus opportunity

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Requirements
Qualifications
5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping, accounting, or property accounting experience
Ability to manage accounting processes independently
Strong understanding of general accounting principles
Real estate, property management, construction, or multi-entity accounting experience preferred
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Experience with property management/accounting software is a plus, but not required
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
Comfortable working in a collaborative entrepreneurial environment
