Description
We currently have an exciting underwriting career opportunity as a PEO Underwriting Manager. This position is part of Aon's Underwriting Center of Excellence and supports Aon's PEO and Staffing vertical.This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from a US-based office.

What the day will look like
As a PEO Health Insurance Underwriting Manager, your day will be a blend of strategic analysis and collaboration, focused on developing tailored health insurance solutions for Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs). You'll work with both internal teams and external partners to deliver the best results for our clients.
- Develops and executes underwriting strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Partners with Underwriting Directors and senior leadership on long-term capacity planning, growth initiatives, and operational strategy.
- Establishes underwriting governance, quality standards, and best practices.
- Serves as final escalation point for complex underwriting, client, and staffing matters.
- Presents business results, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Drives automation, reporting enhancements, and technology adoption
- During peak times may be required to assist team with meeting client SLAs
- Assists with training of department staff members as needed.
- Leads team meetings.
- Provides performance feedback and annual review and evaluation of team members.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Strong leadership and business communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Manage reporting and team projects.
- 8+ years of health insurance underwriting experience, including significant experience within the PEO industry.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience managing underwriting teams.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting portfolio management, operational metrics, and financial analysis.
- Risk Management, Data Analysis, Customer Engagement, Consulting, and Data Management
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, actuarial science, or equivalent industry experience preferred
Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $86,000 - $112,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
