Join the Alternative Distribution Division, a dynamic and innovative digitally focused business unit that is revolutionizing the way small commercial accounts are written. We offer multiple channels for our customers, including direct-to-consumer, traditional agent quoting experiences, and direct API connections. Our current lines of business include Worker's Compensation, BOP, and General Liability.

As a Small Commercial Underwriter, you will be responsible for working closely with assigned agents and wholesalers to profitably grow a book of small commercial business.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Building and Maintaining Relationships: Develop strong, collaborative relationships with agents and wholesalers to understand their needs and support their efforts in growing their business.
- Sales and Marketing: Implement effective sales and marketing strategies to promote our Workers' Compensation and BOP policies through various digital channels.
- Underwriting and Risk Assessment: Evaluate and underwrite small commercial accounts to ensure profitable growth while adhering to company guidelines and standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze the performance of the book of business, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Customer Support: Provide exceptional support to agents and wholesalers, addressing any inquiries or issues promptly and professionally.
- Communication- Make impactful decisions with little oversight
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Experience underwriting small business accounts is strongly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Field of Study: Business, Liberal Arts or a related discipline.
- Experience: 1 to 5 years of underwriting experience.
- Beginning coursework toward certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty
