We are partnering with a well-established and highly regarded Sydney-based organisation operating within a complex, multi-entity environment. The business is currently undergoing systems enhancements and process improvements, offering an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Financial Accountant to take ownership of core finance functions.

About the Role



This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring the integrity of the organisation's financial records. You will take full ownership of the month-end process, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory support, while contributing to ongoing system and process improvements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on financial accounting in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end responsibility for month-end close
• Preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
• Full ownership of general ledger integrity and balance sheet reconciliations
• Review and posting of journals and accruals
• Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
• Support statutory reporting requirements
• Assist with preparation of annual financial statements
• Support budgeting process from a financial reporting perspective
• Maintain asset registers and inventory-related reconciliations
• Review and improve chart of accounts and reporting structures
• Support system migration and finance process improvements
• Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax requirements

Skills & Experience

• CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
• Strong technical financial accounting background
• Solid month-end and balance sheet reconciliation experience
• Experience in audit support and statutory reporting
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
• High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
• Confident working across ERP systems
• Strong organisational and communication skills
