Account Manager I

Regular Full Time Non-Exempt (Clerical)

Location:  Park Ridge, IL, US

Please note: This position will be expected to report to the Park Ridge, IL office location 3X a week and will have the ability to work remotely 2 X a week.

Position Description

The Account Manager is responsible for ensuring a smooth experience for the member from application to policy issuance.  The Account Manager communicates to the applicant/insured specific aspects of the policy process including but not limited to the application process, turnaround times, premium indications, coverage questions, product selections, etc.  The Account Manager will provide training/assistance when necessary.  The Account Manager works closely with the assigned (Senior) Underwriter and supports the book of business assigned to the team for tasks including but not limited to; policy issuance, mid-term changes, premium financing, premium collecting and Patient Compensation Fund (PCF) enrollment. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answers calls and provides customer service to the Call Centers for the CRNA members.    Communicates with members about new and existing policies, turnaround times, premium indications, coverage questions, product selections, premium financing, premium due, refunds, etc.   Takes claim/incident information from an Insured and reports to the insurance company according to guidelines and provides required supporting documentation.  Follows up on the assignment of a claims adjustor and provide claim adjustor contact information to the Insured.  Provides necessary forms to Insureds requesting a change to their policy.  
  • Prioritizes and issues all paper policies according to department guidelines, including but not limited to creating policy check list, confirming Named Insureds, policy effective dates, limits of liability, endorsements, premium financing or premium collecting/refunding.   Works closely with Finance Company preparing and submitting finance agreements.  Works closely with (Senior) Underwriter to manage/support assigned book of business.  Possess an understanding of the complete underwriting process and can provide support to other Account Managers if needed. Processes policy changes and sends resulting endorsements to the Insured Collects/refunds premiums accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience with an Insurance Agency or Insurance Company.  Preferably with Professional Liability experience.

Education/Certification/Licenses:      

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  College degree preferred
  • Current Illinois Producers Insurance License preferred

Qualifications & Other Skills:      

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the association
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with MS Office 
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable insurance concepts and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of why and how underwriting and policy issuance decisions are made
